As creative people, I really believe that in order to work creatively we need to be able to continue to fuel that by curating projects that aren't for pay and are for our own purpose. I try as often as I can to coordinate shoots with friends with some vision in mind. Without a deadline, without pressure, and with the ability to experiment and discover new things. The sole purpose of the shoot being to ignite something in me, to see beyond what I've been conditioned to see and to be able to interpret the people and the world around me in new ways. I'm an avid believer that this is a necessary practice that will make me a better photographer. With that being said, I have a friend who is a fellow photographer and has modeling experience. We get together to hang out, catch up, and occasionally take some photos for fun! She has knowledge of both sides of the spectrum; being both behind and in front of a camera. This makes for a smooth shoot with lots of options. I appreciate her willingness to jump in front of a camera for me! The other day we took some shots in my apartment at the perfect time of day with incredible light. We then traveled a few blocks over to Frick Park to get some photos outside. My specialty is playing up natural light, so this was the perfect opportunity to explore that even farther. Below are some of the pictures we got from this day!
