A few weekends ago I spent my entire Sunday in a recording studio in the Southside of Pittsburgh. My husband and some friends have a band called Cape Cod and they spent the whole weekend recording an album. I packed up some breakfast and coffee and made my way to the studio bright and early. I didn't anticipate being there all day, but I started editing photos while I drank my coffee, and hours later it turned into drinking a beer while editing. In that time, a friend of mine who lives in the area came to visit. We had a lot of time to converse, and in that time we had an in depth discussion about what we want to do with our lives and how do we get there.

My friend Yasha and I lived together in college and have had many conversations like this over the years. It's amazing to see how far we've come in only a few years. Ambitions that we talked about in a crowded college house late at night (or early in the morning depending on your perspective) that have been achieved, been started, and some that have even been put aside. Sometimes we need a reminder when we feel like we're just trying to stay above water, like we haven't grown, like we're not knocking out dreams like we anticipated. We need to look back at where we've started and recognize what we've been given and what we've worked for and appreciate it. I'm incredibly thankful for these conversations and for friends who are walking through the struggles along side of you!

After this intense talk, I prompted Yasha into letting my snap a few photos of her in the green room (which was actually more of a blue color, but you know). She like myself, is more used to being behind a camera, so I'm not sure if it took extra prompting or if I just started taking pictures. Either way, Here are some of the photos we got!

My friend is currently working towards growing in the business of videography along with growing her brand, One Focus, into the vision that she has developed and held dear to her heart over the years. Head on over to her site to see some of her work and to learn more!
