A few weeks ago, I was able to invest in a Canon 5D Mark III. I hadn't had a chance to go out and get acquainted with my new piece of equipment, so as per usual I forced my husband into being my model subject for the afternoon. We started by heading to a new to us coffee house in Garfield called Black Forge Coffee House. I got some sort of smoked latte, and it was wonderful. After grabbing some coffee we walked down the concrete hill to walk back up a dirt road to some hiking trails that overlooked the city. I've never hiked in a place where you can be in the middle of the woods and also see the entire city at the same time. I figured this was a great opportunity to explore a new place and practice taking some pictures. I also finally invested in Lightroom and purchased some presets. I absolutely love Twig & Olive Photography and when I was looking at their presets they had just released their Terra Film series, and it was on sale. I've edited with the Terra Film presets for two photo shoots now, and I'm in love. They create just enough of the feel I'm looking for and easily allows me to modify the image to my personal preference. Most definitely thankful for my recent investments! Below are some of the photos I took of my husband in and around Grandview Park!
