About 11 years ago, I met an 11 year old girl named Miranda who one day would become my sister in law! She was 11, I was 15, and we met through her brother who I was friends with for a few years and eventually started dating, and married. I pretty much won on all ends of this deal. In high school before my now husband and I were even dating, he would come home from football practice I would be at his house hanging out watching movies with his sister and his mom. When he came home he wrongly thought that it was time for us to hang out, but I was totally there for his awesome family, so he inevitably would join us in whatever movie we were watching.

Now, I have this incredibly grown up, talented, brave, and beautiful sister (in law). Now in her 20s, Miranda has decided to start a new journey in her life and move across the country! At such a terrifying and ridiculously exciting time in her life, I figured that it was only fitting to do a photo shoot! We had an insanely warm day for February (like, almost 80!) and we used it to shoot outside in the sunshine. Miranda did her own hair and make up and it was stunning. It was one of my favorite shoots to date!

When I got home afterwards I loaded all of the photos onto my computer and started sorting through them. As I looked through them, a totally cliche yet truthful thought crossed my mind - how has time passed by this quickly?! How did we go from renting movies at Blockbusters & watching Fried Green Tomatoes, to moving across the country & being adults? As I showed my husband some of the photos I had taken of his sister he said, "I think this is the first time I've ever seen her as an adult" in true older brother fashion. As I looked through all of the pictures he was right. Miranda grew up, and I am super proud of the person she is and the person she continues to become. A lot of her creativity, strong will, and empowered woman-ness, resonates with me. I can't believe I've gotten the opportunity to see her grow into who she is now, and can't wait to see who we both become over the years!
