It's that time of year where graduation comes around all too fast, or maybe not soon enough! My cousin, Mackenzie, is graduating this year and it's craziness. I used to babysit her and her two siblings. I remember when they were all born! How is she graduating high school already! Regardless, it is happening, and she has grown up to be a strong and beautiful human being and I'm so proud and immensely excited for this next journey in her life!
She hasn't graduated yet though! But she did go to prom. I had the honor of seeing her and her friends before they headed off for prom festivities. I met a bunch of my family at Preston Park in Butler. When I grew up in Butler I used to run, take walks, and photograph in Preston Park. It's my favorite spot in that town. I didn't realize that I would have to park outside of the actual park because there were so many people getting prom pictures!
I love getting to see all of the differing dresses that girls pick out! My cousin was wearing a gorgeous periwinkle colored dress with her hair curled with some baby's breath in place. She was stunning as usual. I met a bunch of my aunts, uncles, grandma, and cousins in an open field surrounded by huge pine trees. I wasn't there as "photographer", just as the role of "cousin", but I can never really leave the photographer role behind, so of course I had my camera. I snapped a few shots in between family and friends jumping in to get pictures together, greeting friends who had just arrived, and running to a new location to get pictures. It was a great to be able to photograph and spend time with family!
