Emily & Frank got married in mid May this year in Belle Vernon, PA at The Bible Chapel of Rostraver. I met Emily and the rest of the ladies at their hotel room to get some photos of them getting ready. They were all wearing silk robes with their titles in rhinestones on the backs. It was a calm morning, just the girls hanging out and finishing up last minute hair and make up details! We made our way from the hotel to the church for the girls to finish getting ready before the guys arrived.
The church was beautiful with stained glass details that made for some unique photo opportunities. As I was with the ladies, I watched and snapped photos as they all helped each other put on shoes, zip up and button dresses, and make sure everything was ready to go. At the same time my husband was with the guys, getting pictures of them getting ready as well. We had to make sure the two groups stayed separate as we moved about the church! Once everyone was ready, everyone was scurried out of the room so Emily and her father could have a first look. I love moments of fathers and their daughters on their wedding day. It's something so special, where I get to be behind the scenes in that moment where the world of a dad collides from seeing his daughter as both his little girl and a woman about the get married.
After the first look, my husband and I took our places for the ceremony, which was full of love, singing, smiles, and a sand ceremony. After the ceremony Emily and Frank's friends and family lined the exit of the church and showered them with bubbles! As the newlyweds made their exit, we frantically kept our eyes on the forecast seeing as it was supposed to be storming already, but we thought we were in luck so we made our way to Cedar Creek Park not too far away. As the bridesmaids bustled Emily's dress on the bus, we hurried the men over to the boat dock by the water to get some photos. We managed to get photos of Frank and all of his groomsmen among some pretty cool stormy clouds just before the thunder started. We rushed the crew back onto the bus and decided to head to the Hopwood Social Hall to get some photos there before the reception.
Just as we arrived to the reception, the storm had slowed to barely a sprinkle, and we were able to get some beautiful and love filled photos of Emily & Frank, even in a short amount of time! I've had anywhere from ten minutes to an hour and a half to photograph couples and trust me, you just have to work with what you're being given on your big day and we will make it happen! A huge part of being a photographer is being able to get great photos in any environment. That's why you guys hire us! So you don't have to stress anymore than necessary, because we got you! Despite the rain and change of location, the stormy skies made for some pretty epic wedding photos!
Once photos were finished, we continued on inside for the reception. The hall had tons of colored lighting and crystal details that reflected that lighting. After Emily & Frank made their big entrance, they had their first dance on the clouds. As they danced together, smoke filled the dance floor as the couple laughed and embraced one another. The night continued with a lot of family and friends who all had some pretty impressive dance moves, including a bridal dance that I'm pretty sure every single guest participated in at least once! It was clear that Emily & Frank not only have immense love for one another, but are greatly loved by those around them. I'm so glad that I got to be a part of this wedding and capture all of these moments!
