One of my favorite parts about my job is getting the opportunity to travel with people throughout different journeys in their lives. What makes it even better is when you get to capture those moments for dear friends. Emily and I met freshman year of college and have been friends since. We now both live in Pittsburgh, and I'm grateful that we've been able to stay connected in these next steps of life. In October of 2016, I took Emily & Matthew's engagement photos at Point State Park and Washington's Landing. In November of 2016, I got to photograph their wedding. And now in spring of 2018, I had the amazing opportunity to photograph Emily's baby bump! We even returned to the same spot in South Park where we took their wedding photos!
I remember the day Emily and I sat for coffee at Big Dog in the Southside and she told me that she was pregnant! I was and am so excited for this crazy, new, chaotic, and wonderful time in her and Matthew's life! There's really no other word to describe how quickly life is moving besides crazy! I can't believe that a few short years or even months ago was so different than this moment. I love looking back and thinking about how far the people I know and even myself have come!
Pictures will always be a tangible reminder for me to take moments more slowly, remember them better, and to be in them more presently. I hope that the photos I take for other people will serve as the same reminder for them, too.
