A few weeks back, it was one of those random really hot days that started sunny with blue skies, and in what seemed like a minute the sky turns dark, it pours rain, and then it's over. I love the lighting and the sky right before and after a storm. The way the bright light comes through dark gray blue clouds and creates a huge amount of contrast is the best. As soon as I saw the sun showing through, I grabbed my camera and went on a rainbow hunt with my husband. We walked around our part of the city in the east side, but we didn't get very far. I was making many stops to see the way the sky was reflecting in puddles, to photograph the rain drops resting on one woman's vast garden on the street corner, to capture the sky illuminated with fluffy pink clouds.
We never did find a rainbow, but I did get to capture many of the amazing little things where we call home.
